Checking Inn w/ All-Important D Street as Hotels Move Forward

Done and done. Final reviews are finished for the pair of hotels slated for D Street near the convention center. Construction's expected to start by early 2014.

The inns, to be built on 6 acres of South Boston, include a 300-room AloftHotel for business travelers and a 180-room hotel called the Element for stays of at least three nights. The hotels are part of the increasingly important D Street corridor, which is helping link old-school inner-neighborhood Southie with the ever-changing waterfront area. It's sort of a for better or for worse scenario as development like these hotels inches along the corridor.
