Oh, Hey, There's a Five-Figure Rental in Cambridge

The 5-BR, 4.5-BA Victorian at 32 Bowdoin Street dropped on the rental market more than two months ago, actually, and has sat there ever since. It is by far the priciest rental listing in Cambridge (the next closest is $7,400 for the 4-BR, 2.5-BA at 88 Avon Hill Street).

The 11-room, 5,000-square-foot 32 Bowdoin has been asking $12,500 a month. That would cover two parking spaces, a private yard, and a deck as well. The would-be landlord bought the house for $1,265,000 way back in April 2008, just as the world crumbled, gut-renovating it two years later and now... trying to set a fresh benchmark in a city already noted for the madness of its rental market.
