This Somerville House Went for $100,000 Above Its Asking

New, 1 comment

The $1,050,000 trade of 14 Kidder Avenue off Davis Square is the city's biggest closed deal of September so far. In fact, it's got all of August beat, too.

If you've been following along at home, you know that the closing price is not that gobsmacking an occurrence. That is, the fact that the trade of the 4-BR, 2.5-BA, 2,773-square-foot castle with greenhouse attached and sunken dining room is the biggest deal in Somerville over the last two months is noteworthy. But that it was last listed at $950,000 and went for a hundred grand over that in a sale that closed Sept. 20 is not.

See, in our fair Hub these days, over-asks are fairly common. And, some, like this one, are whoppers. Oh, and one more thing: 14 Kidder was listed on July 12 and went to contract on July 19. Brave new world, keep calm and carry on, etc.
