Boston Inventor of 20-Minute Living Hosting Grand Opening

Fort Point's 315 on A has set next Thursday for its grand opening (so many new apartment buildings in Greater Boston!). Recall that developer Gerding Edlen, the same folks who brought you Factory 63 and its innovation units, coined the phrase "20-Minute Living" to describe 315 on A's approach to, well, living. The above floorplan from the 202-unit tower illustrates the approach nicely as does this from the developer's website: "Imagine being able to do all of the necessary and enjoyable things that make life great within 20 minutes of your home. ... Less time spent in transit means more time for family and friends, leisure activities and other meaningful experiences." Sounds grand.

The achingly green tower (it's LEED Gold) has several availabilities, and rent gets you not only the space, of course, but perks like bike storage and a fitness center. Studios of 464 square feet start at just over $2,200, with 609-square-foot ones running to $2,909; 1-BRs start at nearly $3,700 and run to more than $5,000; and 2-BRs are in the $5,000 ballpark as well. The most expensive apartment available at 315 on A as it readies for its big debut seems to be an 853-square-foot, 1.5-BR, 1-BA on the 20th floor asking $5,399. Live well.
