LADDER DISTRICT—From figures for the fourth quarter of 2013: "The hottest neighborhood for sales was Midtown — also called the Ladder District — the area bordered by the Boston Common, Financial District, Chinatown and Bay Village — where 194 condos changed hands, followed by South End with 153 units sold..." MASS.-WIDE—Spare a thought for the real estate brokers: "But even as home values rise, the confidence level among Realtors across Massachusetts is slipping, according to a new survey by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. MAR's Realtor Market Confidence Index fell for the second month in a row in December, hitting 52.63 on a scale of 100. Anything above 50 is considered a strong or rising market while below 50 signals a weak or declining market." []
