And, even though the year's still got more than 11 months left, we're going to go out on a limb and say that this puppy shall stand as one of 2014's five or 10 biggest. Recall that about three weeks ago we noted that the $7,817,500 sale of Unit 601 in the new-construction building atop a two-level Chanel store was the biggest condo trade of 2013. Then we noted that there were units in the building that just might trump that amount. So far no-go.
Nevertheless, Unit 502, a 5,600-square-foot floor-through with the potential for three bedrooms, closed earlier this month for $7,118,051. That's several hundred grand off the 2013 condo champ, but easily Boston's biggest home sale this young year. And! Chanel No. 6's Unit 401 remains on the market through Campion & Co. for $7,900,000—plenty of asking price to stomp last year's record.
