The 503-unit, 38-story Avalon North Station, which officially breaks ground today, is one of the biggest new apartment developments in Boston. It will likely do little to alleviate the city's housing crunch, however: "Its apartments will not be cheap. Studios with 500 square feet will cost about $2,400 a month, while three-bedroom penthouse units will rent for $7,500 and up." [Globe]
