Cambridge Prices in Watertown; Mass. Homelessness Spikes

New, 3 comments

WATERTOWN—Luckily, they're only going for around $900,000: "'This is the poor man's opportunity to own a really high-end, beautiful, newly construction home at a 70 percent discount from Cambridge,' said Matt Dillon, who is helping market the project. 'If these were two miles down the street, they would be going for $1.2 to $1.5 million in Cambridge, at the drop of a hat.'" [Boston.com]

MASS.-WIDE—The rise comes as homelessness drops in most of the nation: "The data compiled by HUD shows that Massachusetts had the second highest increase in its homeless population between 2013 and 2014, with 2,208 people while only trails New York. HUD estimates the Commonwealth's homeless population now stands at 21,237, which constitutes roughly three to six percent of its entire population." [BostInno]
