'Tis one of the long-time trends in the Boston-area condo market: units going for over their asking prices (sometimes for well over). But not every condo is an over-ask. Now and zen comes a condo that decidedly bucks the trend. One such number is Unit 3 at 9 Joy Street in Beacon Hill. The 2-BR, 1-BA, 1,250-square-foot penthouse duplex, which was once one of the finest examples of how far $1M wen in the Boston housing market, dropped in June for $1,150,000. The price quickly began descending, first to $1.1M, then $1.075M, and then finally to $1.025M. That's where it closed five days ago. And that's a full $125,000 under asking.
