BOSTON—Tenant advocates are pushing for more affordable housing in new developments in the wake of the Boston Redevelopment Authority approving four apartment complexes, including 319 A Street in Fort Point (rendered above): "The coalition wants to see the number of affordable units developers are required to set aside raised from 15 percent of market-rate units to 25 percent, and the amount they alternatively can pay into an Inclusionary Development Program fund for affordable housing also increased." ALLSTON—Big changes are coming to Cambridge Street near Soldiers Field, further proof that the car is no longer king in Boston: "Boston Department of Transportation officials say they have plans to re-stripe the street in the coming month, adding bike lanes near the Cambridge Street overpass on both sides that will take away a car lane in each direction."
