The Boston City Council wants to double relocation fees landlords must pay tenants when buildings are converted to for-sale units: "Fees would increase from $5,000 to $10,000 for elderly, disabled and low-income tenants, and from $3,000 to $6,000 for others, to bring them in line with increased housing costs since their adoption in 2004, according to City Councilor Josh Zakim."
