The 5,439-square-foot, 10-room townhouse at 4 Chestnut Street in Beacon Hill hit the sales market way back in May for $4,495,000—or a relatively affordable $826 a square foot. In the original listing from Campion & Co., a 1-BR, 1-BA apartment within the property and with its own entrance was included in the price tag. That 1-BR is now being offered separately for $599,000. The rest of the townhouse now wants $3,950,000. If you were to buy the separate 1-BR for $599K, the entire tag would come to $4,549,000—or more than the original listing. The Boston luxury market works in mysterious ways.
