Five-Figure Cambridge Listing Colors Outside the Lines

New, 3 comments

Cambridge's priciest rentals tend to pop up in the city's mid-section: Mid-Cambridge and the Harvard area in particular. So it is with not a bit of eyebrow-raising that we regard this new listing for the house at 189 Pearl Street in river-hugging, M.I.T.-bordering Cambridgeport.

The four-level, 4,000-square-foot house with three parking spaces and six bedrooms wants $12,500 a month. By our back-of-the-envelop calculations, that makes 189 Pearl the most expensive Cambridge rental in at least the last five months, tieing what 32 Bowdoin Street just northwest of Harvard's main campus wanted. That puppy appears to have rented (though we don't know for how much in the end). We'll see what happens with this gem (heh).
