Greater Boston's Most Fantastical Abode Turns Desperate

New, 3 comments

Back in October Jeff Vinik, a minority owner of the Red Sox (and majority owner of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning), listed his 7.52-acre Weston estate off Byron Road for $17,000,000. The tag seemed astronomical. Then you got a peek at the 19,306-square-foot mansion's interior and you were, like, whoa, seriously? It's a funhouse of whimsy, including Scrabble on a bathroom wall and a gaming console decked out like a spaceship.

Whatever the intergalactic decor, 67 Byron hasn't found a buyer. Which has translated into a massive price-chop: $2,500,000. Which brings the price to $14,500,000. Which still makes the 7-BR, 11-BA mansion the second priciest in Weston, the first being 63 Winsor Way, now asking $16,250,000. Which does nothing to detract from 67 Byron's other-worldliness. Stay tuned.
