Lightning-Fast Trade on Beacon Hill's Chestnut Street

'Tis a week for fast sales, eh? This 6,831-square-foot townhouse at 21 Chestnut Street in Beacon Hill dropped on the market April 8. As of Tuesday, it was under agreement—so not even a week to trade.

This is not exactly mind-bending by modern Hub standards, but given the size of the property in question and its asking tag (as well as a dearth of listing photos), it's worth taking particular note.

The 7-BR, 6-BA manse was asking $5,500,000, making it one of Boston's priciest listings. Whether it got that, we don't yet know. The townhouse last traded two recessions ago, in July 1992, for $1,352,500. Stay tuned.
