Beacon Hill's Chestnut Street can produce some real showstoppers on the Boston sales market, no doubt about that. We're not sure if the newly listed townhouse at 4 Chestnut is one of those. You be the judge.
The 5,439-square-foot, 10-room spread has bones in the 1820s; a sweeping spiral staircase wending to all levels; six bedrooms; four bathrooms and two half-baths; a double parlor and formal dining room; and a landscaped patio with a separate entrance to a large 1-BR apartment (or "guest suite" as the Campion & Co. listing suggests). It wants $4,495,000—a relatively affordable $826 a square foot. Thoughts?
