Here's What You Get for Under $2,500 a Month in JP

New, 1 comment

'Tis almost time for the summer two-step tenant-wise, that mad scramble for the best deals on apartments in the Greater Boston region. Last week, we ran down the (admittedly paltry) options for renting in Back Bay for under $2,000 a month.

This week, we run down 10 solid-er options for renting in Jamaica Plain for under $2,500 to give you a better idea of what's out there—and, more importantly, for how much. Basically the takeaway is that even under $2,5K you get to play with two bedrooms and more than a shoebox amount of space. We start with a 2-BR, 1-BA at 6 Lamartine Terrace that wants $2,400 a month. Unit 1's "huge living room," according to the listing, is pictured to the upper right.

The 2-BR, 1-BA Unit 1 at 99 Rose Street spreads over 1,100 square feet and also wants $2,400 a month.

Unit 102 at 251 Heath Street wants $2,400, too. It has one bedroom, one and a half bathrooms and one garaged parking space. It's 814 square feet.
__

The 3-BR, 1-BA Unit 2 at 10 Gore Street wants $2,300

__

The 2-BR, 1-BA Unit 9 at 40 Jamaicaway wants $2,300. It's 825 square feet.
__

Unit 3 at 378 Riverway is a 2-BR, 1-BA spreads over 1,125 square feet and wants $2,300.
__

Here we go: Unit 2 at 96 Sheridan Street has two bedrooms and one bathroom and 1,100 square feet. It wants $2,200.
__

Unit 3 at 29 Rossmore Road is asking $2,100 for its two bedrooms, one bathroom and 975 square feet.
__

Boom: Two bedrooms and one bathroom in Unit 7 of 366 Centre Street for $1,700 a month. Get that in Back Bay? Don't think so.
