After Hefty Price-Chops, Beacon Hill's 51 Chestnut Trades

The 4,774-square-foot Federal-style townhouse at 51 Chestnut Street dating from the Jackson administration hit the sales market in October 2012 for $5,875,000. Its first price-chop, in March 2013, dropped the price to $5,250,000; further cuts last year brought it down to $4,999,000, where it found a buyer.

The 6-BR spread, with four full bathrooms and two halves as well as a private courtyard and deeded parking space, closed for $4,750,000. If you're scoring at home, that's 589 official days on the market and $1,125,000 off the original asking.
