56 Beacon Street Cries Uncle, Slashes Price Six Figures


The stately manse at 56 Beacon Street in Beacon Hill has had quite the go of it. The 8,684-square-foot townhouse, with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, dropped way back in January 2011 for $12,500,000 and stayed at that asking into 2014 as one of Boston's most aged listings. Now, more than three years in, it has pivoted dramatically price-wise.

The townhouse with a four-car garage, a dining room capacious enough to seat 14 comfortably, a master suite that consumes the entire third floor, and an elevator to all five floors now wants $11,900,000. That's a $600K price-chop. Things are getting interesting...
