The 10,000-square-foot, six-fireplace manse at 101 Fernwood Road in Chestnut Hill, Brookline, is the priciest home to hit the Greater Boston housing market in a decade. The Wall Street Journal's Candace Taylor has the background: "Longtime Brookline residents, Mr. Sharon and his wife, Nanci, completed the contemporary four-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in 2008. But a short time later, Mr. Sharon, a managing director at Morgan Stanley, saw an opportunity to move his business to Miami, and the couple decided to relocate."
The Sharons are asking $18,000,000 even for the estate, which includes 3.72 acres (which, in turn, includes a Zen garden). Stay tuned.
