12 Aerial Sculptures Like the One Planned for the Greenway

An original work of Brookline-based artist Janet Echelman will grace the Rose Kennedy Greenway next year. Details are scarce—The Globe says it "will feature a canvas suspended hundreds of feet above the Greenway ... attached to buildings running along the park"—but if Echelman's earlier works are any indication, you won't miss it. Her pieces are generally ginormous, colorful and undulating; big, billowy jellyfish-like pieces crafted from material such as twisted nylon, braided polyester, painted cables and color lighting.

So! To give a better sense of what might, indeed, loom above the Greenway in 2015, we've compiled a dozen of Echelman's earlier works, titles included where available and locations, too.
