New Boston Public Art to Make Sweet, Watery Sounds

New, 2 comments

Check out the rendering of the Tidraphone above. What's a Tidraphone, you ask? Take it away, Boston Redevelopment Authority! "Its pipes extend into the water at various lengths, and as the tide changes so will the tones of each pipe. Passersby will be invited to strike the instrument with a mallet or other implement to make music."

The Tidraphone will be going in the Fort Point Channel in front of the Intercontinental Hotel. It's part of the recent spate of public art the city approved, either through the Public Space Invitational or the Fort Point Watersheet Activation Plan (or both!).
