Condos Coming Along at the Site of the Old Cocoanut Grove

New, 2 comments

A reader shares the above photo through the ever-discreet Curbed Boston Tipline of the construction under way at the site of the Cocoanut Grove nightclub fire in Bay Village, which killed 492 people in November 1942. The site, of course, changed after the blaze and before now; and will change again.

Eight condos are going up at 21 Piedmont Street in a development to be called Piedmont Park Square. They include rowhouse-style units starting at $2,792,000 and single-floor numbers starting at $1,200,000.

The Revere Hotel, by the way, already occupies a goodly portion of the old nightclub. These condos (rendered) are going up on what was a long-time parking lot.
