There are certain truisms in Boston real estate right now. A big one is that condos generally go for at or over their asking prices; and those that are particularly spectacular most assuredly do so. Well, Unit 2 at 462 Shawmut Avenue in the South End bucked that trend. The 2-BR, 1-BA penthouse with achingly quaint arched ceilings and exposed brick was listed in early June for $850,000. The 1,234-square-footer with eight—count 'em, eight skylights—sold for $800,000 in a deal that closed Friday.
