Hatted Bear Part of North End Townhouse's Sales Pitch

New, 1 comment

The newly listed townhouse at 3 Jackson Avenue in Boston's North End is damn compelling: Four bedrooms; five and a half bathrooms; 2,949 square feet; a roof deck with wet bar and wine cooler; what the Otis & Ahearn listing calls a "hidden wine cellar" (wine!); bones in the 1890s; and zoning for two-family even though it's being used as a single. What more do you need to move it in this go-go market? How's about a stuffed bear with a thick winter hat in one of the listing photos? There it is right next to a bearskin rug to boot. Cozy! Three Jackson Ave. last traded in November 2012 for $3,250,000. Interestingly, the ursine spread this go-round wants just $2,275,000. Stay tuned.
