The penthouse duplex at the Cushing-Endicott House in Back Bay is as bonkers as you would expect: direct elevator access; 2,679 square feet; three bedrooms and two and a half baths; deeded parking; two floors and two fireplaces; three exposures and a giant sunroof. Nevertheless, it took ages and a lot of price-chops to sell, asking as much as $3,484,000 at one point and then dwindling all the way to its closing of $2,425,000. Said closing was Aug. 15. Since then the grand spread's new owner has apparently put it and its vus on the equally bonkers Boston rental market.
The penthouse at 163 Marlborough currently asks a humble $14,000 a month in rent. That's nothing. Stay tuned.
