New Greenway Development Bringing Either Housing or Hotel

New, 5 comments

One of the more delicious spots along both the Rose Kennedy Greenway and the Boston waterfront could morph into either a new residential development or a new hotel.

Developer SKW Partners is starting to push plans to convert the current site of seafood emporium James Hook & Co. at 15 Northern Avenue into one or the other. James Hook would then take space in the new development. It's all rather preliminary, as Donna Goodison at The Herald explains, given the labyrinth of permits the developer still needs to navigate.

But! One key aspect is already up for negotiation and it's no surprise given we're talking about Boston here: height. The new development is currently slated to be around 200 feet, in striking distance of the 175-foot benchmark that for some reason is the building guideline for the Greenway.
