Newton's Mad-Craziest Mansion Lops a Lot Off Its Price

New, 1 comment

The nearly 9,900-square-foot mansion at 235 Highland Street in Newton dropped back in mid-March for $6,650,000. It was a suitably bonkers price tag for a truly bonkers spread: five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms; a rock-climbing wall and an indoor driving range; a wine room; a three-car garage; and "12+ zones of HVAC," according to the listing then. Now we discover, though, that the estate (there's 1 full acre involved, too) may have had second thoughts about that asking. Two price-chops, including one last week, have brought 235 Highland's tag down to a mere $5,995,000. That's a full $655K off the original, if you're scoring at home. Also, the listing brokerage switched recently, from Hammond to William Raveis. Stay tuned.
