It's Come to This: A South End Closet Is Asking Five Figures

New, 1 comment

The South End is undoubtedly one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Boston. Why, you once voted it the Curbed Boston Neighborhood of the Year! But this bit is taking it to extremes, no? What its listing describes as a "secured, street level entrance STORAGE UNIT/CLOSET" at 310 Columbus Avenue is asking well over $10,000 for its 21 square feet (not a typo).

Specifically, the closet wants $15,000. It's more than seven feet high and three feet wide; and the plywood flooring is new as is the paint job. It's been on the market now for just over 100 days, suggesting there is some justice in the world; though whether there is any in the Boston housing market remains to be seen.
