And, now, the results of our latest Real Estate Deathmatch.
Apparently, 25 square feet makes a huge difference. Or at least that's what we think was the decisive factor in our latest Real Estate Deathmatch, which pitted two South End condos against each other: a 1,650-square-foot duplex at 3 Wellington Street retailing for $1,495,000 vs. a 1,625-square-foot 3-BR at 219 Shawmut Avenue asking $1,399,000 (Boston square feet do not come cheap). The turnout was heavy and the emotions ran high (one reader: "The kitchen is ugly in Wellington but Wellington wins"); but in the end 3 Wellington racked up an impressive margin of victory of 60 percent to 40 percent.
