One Seaport Square, a giant part of the giant Seaport Square project in the Seaport District (Seaport!), could break ground in the next 30 days, according to an executive with developer WS Development. We've been here before, though, with the groundbreaking originally expected in April 2014. The latest target date, vague as it is, comes via news of a movie theater joining the ranks of the project's retail.
As for One Seaport Square overall, plans call for two towers of 22 stories each with 832 luxury apartments and 260,000 square feet of retail on connected lower levels (the 41,375-square-foot movie theater will be on the third floor). Together the towers will encompass 1.1 million square feet, roughly 17 percent of Seaport Square's total.
