Boston's Five Priciest Penthouses Up for Grabs Right Now

Inventory is as tight at the highest end of the Boston condo market as anywhere trickle-down below, and that includes penthouses. Here in descending order are the five most expensive top-floor units for sale right now, starting with Unit 4 at the Burrage Mansion. The price on the 5,865-square-foot 5-BR, 3.5-BA capping 314 Commonwealth Avenue was chopped recently by a cool million. That means it's still asking an equally cool $10,700,000, private roof deck with hot tub included. That makes it far and away the priciest Boston penthouse up for grabs this very second.

Unit 5 at 257 Commonwealth Avenue begins with a two-story, sky-lighted entry foyer and expands to more than 3,100 square feet. The 3-BR, 3-BA is only recently on the market for $4,585,000.

Oh, boy, now on to Penthouse 08 at everyone's favorite downtown country club, Millennium Place! The 3-BR, 3-BA, 2,349-square-foot spread with solarium wants $4,400,000.

Penthouse 2B at the Ritz Carlton Residences' North Tower at 1 Avery Street dropped in late April for $4,200,000. That's where the 3-BR, 4.5-BA, 2,971-square-footer with private terrace has stayed.

The 2,873-square-foot Penthouse 20E at the InterContinental is the cheapest of the lot at a mere $3,795,000. The 3-BR, 3-BA with floor-to-ceiling windows has been on the market only 40-some days.
