All Olympics Edition! Somerville Velodrome; Boston Criticism

BOSTON/CAMBRIDGE—Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has set the record straight re: speculation he would bar city employees from criticizing the Olympics bid: "'I want to you to hear from me directly, I will not—and will never—limit your right to free speech,' he wrote in the e-mail." Meanwhile, Cambridge pols want to shine as bright a light as possible on Games-related mishegoss: "A draft policy order that will appear on the Cambridge City Council's agenda next week calls for City Manager Richard Rossi to make public any agreements that may have been signed between his office and organizations representing Olympic interests." SOMERVILLE—Mayor Joe Curtatone doesn't care for current plans to plunk a 5,000-seat Velodrome in Assembly Row should the region land the Olympics: "Curtatone said he remains a 'willing, constructive partner' to make the Boston Olympics a reality, but bringing the games to fruition by partnering with Somerville should 'adhere to that community-based regional approach' that focuses on the city's long-term needs."
