Cambridge Smoking Rules; Boston Olympics Price Tag

HUB-WIDE—The prime boosters of the Boston Olympics say the price tag will be $8.1B, give or take: "That seems simple enough. But if you believe that $8.1 billion will be the final price, then I'd like to introduce you to an investment adviser named Bernie Madoff. CAMBRIDGE—The City Council just made it tougher to light up in more public spaces, including playgrounds, though the new rules will not take effect until June 1: "Changing the date the law went into effect was even easier, since otherwise potentially dozens of storekeepers big and small were turned into violators overnight."
