Smoking Fast Sale For That 1-BR in Converted JP Firehouse

When it dropped on the market in mid-September, Unit 11 at 16-18 Walker Street in Jamaica Plain gave hope to the hopeless: a nice-looking condo for under $250,000 near the T and with a great backstory to boot. The top-floor spread was carved out of a firehouse dating from 1910, and the building conversion 11 years ago left behind some seriously cool fortress-like vibes. Well, turns out that the 428-square-footer was as desirable as we figured it would be back in September. A buyer stepped up almost immediately and a deal for the condo closed this past Friday. Originally listed for a soul-buoying $199,900, the 1-BR, 1-BA went in the end for $210,000. Still reasonable, no?
