How Much the Mandarin Oriental Could Sell For Per Room

The clue in our latest Real Estate Jeopardy was: The hotel portion of the Mandarin Oriental in downtown Boston is expected to fetch this amount per room in a bankruptcy auction this fall.

The answer is: What is $1,000,000? Yes, indeed, the 148-room inn could fetch as much as $148,000,000 at auction, which, of course, translates into $1M per room. It is yet another sign of the seemingly boundless demand, from investors and travelers, for Boston hotel rooms. Stay tuned and thanks for playing.
