What It Looks Like to Live On a Private Beacon Hill Street

New, 9 comments

The five-room, 1,860-square-foot townhouse at 1 Strong Place sits on a private, gas-lit street in Beacon Hill. Dating from 1890, the Federal-style spread looms like something as postcard-ish as the neighborhood's oft-photographed Acorn Street, all paneled shutters, weathered brick and squatness. The 3-BR, 2.5-BA with a media room and a parking spot dropped on the market in late September for $1,599,000 and recently traded for just a tad under that. One Strong went for a rather precise $1,583,000 in a deal that closed Sunday.
