Public Art Edition: Roberto Clemente Bust; Green Line Cuts

SOUTH END—Officials, including Mayor Marty Walsh, unveiled a bust of baseball great Roberto Clemente, though it's not necessarily meant to honor his athletic achievements. It instead "for the first time recognizes Clemente as a veteran, showing that his achievements reach far beyond the baseball diamond." [Globe]
SOMERVILLE—Some $208,500 has already been paid to artists: "In an attempt to save money on the Green Line expansion that could cost nearly $1 billion more than estimated, MBTA officials have pulled the plug on eight public art projects that make up a fraction of a percent of the project's construction costs."
