Hotel Alexandra Redevelopment; Harvard Science Center Plans

MID-CAMBRIDGE—Renderings are out re: Harvard's redevelopment plans for its Science Center: "The main floor of the Science Center, including the Cabot Science Library, the Greenhouse Café, and exterior spaces, will be transformed to create a dynamic, 24-hour student commons and a technology-integrated library, changes directed in part by input from undergraduates." SOUTH END—The Church of Scientology is taking advantage of the hot real estate market and putting its Hotel Alexandra on Washington Street up for sale. It will be up to (most likely) a private developer to make something of the five-story building dating from the 1870s. It's seen better days. [Boston.com]
