Reminders Boston's Wintry Weather Could Be Much Worse

Sleet, freezing rain and some of the white stuff—no doubt about it, the Boston region notched its first genuine winter storm of the season Tuesday. Yet, as inconvenient as it is, it could be so much worse. Much worse. Let us hark back just 10 months and remember just how awful the grimmest, grimiest winter on record was 'round here (except for the skiers). Photos tell the story well. Like that of the 40-foot-long pedestrian/bike tunnel that one royally frustrated commuter carved in Medford.
