This Somerville Vic Was Restored and Here's What Happened

New, 7 comments

The Victorian Captain's Mansion at 9 Monmouth Street near Porter Square in Somerville was recently restored to its circa 1890 glory and divided into three units. While the marble fireplaces and moldings remain, modern flourishes (of course) have been added, including central air and Thermador kitchen appliances. The redo seems to have done the trick as two units at 9 Monmouth have traded, both for their exact asking prices. Unit 1, a 3-BR, 2.5-BA spread over 2,905 square feet got $1,249,900. And Unit 2, also a 3-BR, 2.5-BA but over 1,842 square feet, commanded $999,900. Rest assured: Unit 3 is still available. That 3-BR, 2-BA with 1,525 square feet wants $899,500.
