It had been asking $1,500,000, according to Re/Max's David Shorey. Now we know the closing price. The 4-BR, 4.5-BA house dating from 1920 closed (on Friday, as it turns out) for $1,725,000—or a full $225K over its asking. The total makes this the most expensive single-family home trade ever in Somerville, according to the region's multiple-listing service. Remember when Somerville was the cheaper alternative to Cambridge? No longer, kids, no longer.
