The Back Bay wonder that is 423 Beacon Street originally hit the sales market way back in September 2013 for $3,950,000. The price quickly dropped and then went up; and the listing brokerage switched from Gibson Sotheby's to Coldwell Banker. Not only that but the listing itself vanished and reappeared, only to vanish again. Before this latest disappearance, the 3,817-square-foot townhouse with bones in the 1880s and a stone courtyard (not to mention five bedrooms and two parking spaces) was asking a cool $3,700,000. Four-twenty-three is back again now. The townhouse is asking $3,495,000, again through Coldwell Banker. That's a full $455K off its original tag, and puts its price per square foot under $1,000. Is it possible to be too cheap in Back Bay?
