First Chance to Regardez Beacon Hill's Maison Vernon

The redevelopment of a Beacon Hill property dating from the early 1830s at 39-41 Mount Vernon Street, a stone's throw from that great Federal-style exclamation point, the Massachusetts State House, is coming along. So much so, in fact, that we now have renderings. Above is one from Unit V (5), listed by Gibson Sotheby's Beth Dickerson, and new to the market. It's 2,903 square feet and will include two fireplaces, three bedrooms, and three and a half bathrooms. And, yes, the seven-unit building is called Maison Vernon after French flourishes such as the plaster moldings (and because, we imagine, French = fancy). Unit V is asking $5,695,000—or just over $1,960 a square foot. Stay tuned.
