Boston Residential Group, the developer that brought you the Frank Gehry-designed 360 Newbury Street in Back Bay, is currently carving 48 condos out of an old office building at 319 A Street in Boston's hot-to-the-touch Fort Point. It's the squatter building rendered above, next to the much larger (and already finished) 315 on A apartment tower. It will likely not be move-in ready until late next year, but we now have a sense of how much the loft-style condos will cost.
The studios, 1-BRs and 2-BRs at 319 on A will start at $499,000, according to an email to the always-discreet Curbed Boston Tipline. If that number strikes you as rather low for Fort Point, know this: Early reports say that the building's studios will run to around 400 square feet, meaning that $499K for one of those translates into an asking price of more than $1,200 per square foot. There. That's more like it.
