It's not exactly a new thing to note that a Boston condo has gone for a lot more than its asking price. What makes Unit 3 at 249 Marlborough Street unique is that the 1,300-square-foot spread is so ... so-so. The Marsh Properties listing described it as a "classic 2nd-floor residence" and that about captures it. Aside from wood paneling (and the location, of course) nothing really jumps out at your re: the 2-BR, 2-BA. And yet. It took barely a month to close for six figures above its asking price of $1,560,000. Unit 3 got $1,675,000 in the end, or $115K over its asking. Sigh.
