Unit 1 in the Mansard Victorian at 185 Hancock Street in Mid-Cambridge unfolds over the entire 1,608-square-foot parlor floor. It's got two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as flourishes from its 1870s origins, including crown moldings and medallion-ed ceilings (which reach 10 feet in some places). Curiously, it does not appear to come with parking. The spread dropped on the market in late April for $845,000. The condo went quickly to contract and it just closed ... for $1,005,000. That is a full $160,000 over the original asking price and further proof of the animating feature of the Cambridge condo market right now. There is hope out there for buyers—just not in the People's Republic.
