Groundbreaking On for Big Piece of Watertown's Boomlet

Everyone knows that heretofore sleepy Watertown is undergoing a development boomlet, with new apartments, condos and hotel rooms going up. One such project is a new Marriott Residence Inn on the old Saab site at Arsenal Mall. Developer Boylston Properties is hosting a groundbreaking this morning at 10.

The new extended-stay inn includes 148 rooms plus standard fare such as meeting rooms and a gym. It's supposed to open in September 2016, and will join a slew of hotels in nearby Boston.
