Two Buildings Are Powering East Boston's Historic Deals

New, 3 comments

Monday brought the gong-rattling news that Unit 3 at 176 Webster Street in Jeffries Point (pictured) had set an all-time per-square-foot sales record for East Boston. The magic number? $569. The following nine biggest sales by square foot come from just two buildings and all involve deals inked since 2012. Why, you'd think Eastie was changing forever right now.

The six from Porter 156:
· Unit 422: $538.90 for 835 square feet
· Unit 332: $531.91 for 799 square feet
· Unit 423: $524.24 for 990 square feet
· Unit 355: $519.55 for 895 square feet
· Unit 344: $478.86 for 804 square feet
· Unit 132: $478.26 for 805 square feet
· Unit 229: $478.23 for 689 square feet

The two from 282 Marginal Street:
· Unit 7: $497.93 for 1,105 square feet
· Unit 8: $485.97 for 1,105 square feet
Porter 156 at 156 Porter Street dates from 2005 and 282 Marginal Street debuted last year.
