We've known for a few weeks now that there was a buyer for that 10,000-square-foot, six-fireplace manse at 101 Fernwood Road in Chestnut Hill, Brookline. Recall that the nearly four-acre estate was asking $18,000,000, enough to make it at one time the most expensive listing in all of Greater Boston. The estate in the end went for $13,500,000 through Coldwell Banker Previews International—or a full $4.5M off the asking price. While a mighty price-chop, indeed, the tag still qualifies 101 Fernwood as Brookline's priciest trade of 2015 so far and surely one of the biggest in the region, too.
